Sophomore Summer Hoying leads volleyball to a four set victory at Capital

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Northern volleyball team won in four sets 25-15, 22-25, 25-10, 25-19 at Capital in an Ohio Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon.

• Sophomore Summer Hoying (Fort Loramie) led the Orange and Black with 14 kills.
• Junior Olivia Baumann (Eaton) added nine kills in the match.
• Freshman Ella Meers (Stow/Stow-Monroe Falls) had a team-high 23 assists.
• Freshman Mylee Sapp (Celina) added seven kills for ONU.
• Freshman Julian Gaier (Fort Loramie) had six kills for Northern.
• Freshman Madelyn Banks (Nashport/Licking Valley) added 18 assists. 
• Sophmore Hailey Miller (North Ridgeville) led the team in digs with 15.
• Capital was led by Chloe Preocanin with 10 kills.
• The Polar Bears hit .280 for the match with 46 kills, while the Comets hit .084 with 44 kills in the match.

• ONU leads the all-time series against Capital 65-9, with a 24-3 record on the road. 
• Junior Jocelyn Obszarski (Cincinnati/Mercy McAuley) is first in the OAC in total blocks with 78.
• Baumann leads the team in kills this season with 208 and in digs with 258.
• Meers is the team leader in assists with 420.
• Sophie Windover is now 45-32 in her third season as head coach of the ONU volleyball team, a winning percentage of .584.
