This Weeks's Championships: The Ohio Northern women's track and field team will compete at the 2021 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships meet Thursday and Friday at Heidelberg's Horenemann Stadium ... Field events will start at 11 am and running events at 3 pm each day ... All 10 OAC schools are expected to compete at the meet ... The top 8 places will score points in the team standings (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) and the top 3 places in each event will earn All-Conference honors ... The Polar Bears are coming off a victory at the 6-team BW OAC Tune-Up meet at Finnie Stadium ... Freshman Keegan Digby swept the hammer throw (51.00m) and the shot put (15.60m) to lead Ohio Northern ... Junior Andrew Buderer won the pole vault by clearing 4.79 meters, which is .06 of a meter better then his previous season-best of 4.73, that had him ranked 15th nationally in the event entering the meet ... Freshman Aaron Guzman won the 800 in 2:01.71 ... On the national level, the NCAA announced field sizes of 17 individuals and 14 relay teams for the 2021 NCAA Championships May 27-29 at Greensboro, N.C. ... Two Polar Bears are currently listed in the top-17 in their respective events ... Junior Nate Dean currently ranks 13th in the 200 with a season-best time of :21.63 and Buderer is 12th in the Pole Vault (4.79 meters) ... Five more Polar Bears are within striking range of qualifying in other events ... Senior Sam Krabacher is 38th in the 1500 (3:55.63) ... Senior Owen Lloyd is 27th in the 110 hurdles (:14.94) ... Senior Colin McCullough is 41st in the 400 hurdles (:55.39) ... Junior Luke Shellhaas is 40th in the pole vault (4.56m) ... Freshman Keegan Digby is 36th in the shot put (15.06m).
