Senior Sam Krabacher wins 800-meter title, leads Men's Track and Field to third place finish at OAC Championships

TIFFIN — Senior Sam Krabacher (Hamilton/Badin) won the 800-meter run title to lead the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team to a third place finish at the 2021 OAC Championships meet on Saturday at Heidelberg's Hornenemann Stadium.
The Polar Bears (41-9 overall) finished in third place out of 10 teams with 96 points.
Krabacher swept the 800 this year and is now a four-time All-OAC honoree in the event, winning the race in 1:55.98. He won the indoor title in the 800 this March, finishing in 1:56.16.
Junior Nate Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) also earned All-Conference accolades on Saturday, finishing third in the 100-meter dash in :10.91.
The top three finishers in each event earn All-Conference honors.
ONU also earned All-Conference kudos in the 4x100 and the 4x400 relays.
The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding), sophomore Vini Souza (Spencerville), freshman David Gross (Prospect/Pleasant Local) and Krabacher were second in 3:21.67.
Sophomore Brandon Berry (Wickliffe), Sousa, junior Andrew Buderer (Oak Harbor) and Dean were third in the 4x100 in :42.18.
Dean was also fourth in the 200 dash in :21.84.
Senior Alex Sube (Wadsworth/Highland) was fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 51.25 meters.
Freshman Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) was sixth in the shot put (13.61m) and the hammer throw (49.57m).
Senior Owen Lloyd (Colfax, Ind./Clinton Prairie) was sixth in the 100 hurdles in :15.13 and Kessler was sixth in the 400 in :50.01.
Freshman Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) was sixth in the 800 in 1:57.99.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Friday at the Baldwin Wallace Last Chance meet.
