Mitchel Luck leads Men's Lacrosse to a 12-4 road win at Capital

COLUMBUS — Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team won a 12-4 road contest at Capital in an Ohio Athletic Conference battle on a cool Saturday afternoon.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (11-4 Overall, 6-1 OAC), Capital (4-8 Overall, 2-5 OAC).

- Sophomore Mitchel Luck (Linden, Mich.) scored three goals and two assists to lead ONU.
- Senior Caleb Bennett (Stokesdale, N.C./Linganore) scored two goals and an assist in the contest.
- Junior Colin Willits (West Chester/Lakota West) had two goals and two assists in the game.
- Northern went on a 4-1 in the first period.
- Ferguson scored the first goal of the second period at 13:40 to extend the lead to 5-1.
- After a Capital goal the Polar Bears went on a 5-1 run to make it 10-3 heading into halftime.
- Luck found the net to begin the second half at 9:32 to make it 11-3.
- ONU led 11-4 heading into the fourth period.
- Both teams could not find the net in the fourth until Bennett scored with 42 seconds left in the contest to make it 12-4.
- The Comets were led by Mason Spaulding who had three goals.
- Freshman Peyton Lich (Palmyra, N.Y./Macedon) had seven saves to earn the win.
- Seven different Polar Bears scored goals in the contest.
- ONU out-shot MU 56-24 and had the ground ball advantage 40-38.

- Senior Alex Bergeron (Grafton, Mass.) and sophomore Ryan Frech (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) lead the team in caused turnovers this season with 25 each.
- Senior Chad Calderwood (Portland, Ore./Episcopal) won 8 of 15 in faceoffs on the day, extending his school record to 541 for his career.
