Fifth-year senior Andrew Stechschulte named OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern fifth-year senior Andrew Stechschulte (Findlay) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of March 16-22.
The recognition comes after he hit three home runs in a doubleheader with Alma (Mich.) on Saturday.
In the opener, Stechschulte blasted two 2-run homers and finished 4-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs, but ONU dropped the game 14-8.
In game two, Northern got a 7-6 walk-off victory where Stechschulte went a perfect 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs and a run.
Stechschulte is batting .303 on the season and leads the team with 19 RBIs and 5 home runs to go with 20 hits, 3 doubles and a triple.
In his career, he is tied for 33rd all-time with 139 base hits and ranks 8th in ONU history with 34 career doubles.
This is Stechschulte's first career Player of the Week accolade.
The Polar Bears (11-6 Overall) return to action on Tuesday when they host Trine (Ind.) at 4 p.m.
