SPRINGFIELD--The Ohio Northern volleyball team went 1-1 on the second day of the Wittenberg Fall Classic.
In the evening, ONU was victorious over Alma (Mich) by a 25-21, 25-19, 20-25, 25-20 margin.
Junior Kristen Davidson paced Northern with 10 kills and a .200 hitting mark.
Senior Kelsie Zumberger had 34 assists while junior libero Jeni Kmic had 24 digs to lead the Polar Bears.
ONU fell to No. 7 Hope (Mich.) in the morning by a 25-16, 25-19, 25-23 score.
Davidson led the way for Northern with six kills while senior Ellen Grenert, freshman Julie Amos and freshman Ellie Gillespie each had five.
Kmic had 15 digs while Zumberger chipped in with 21 assists.
Kmic was named to the All Tournament team.
Northern went 2-2 on the weekend in a tournament that featured five teams ranked in the top 25.
The Polar Bears record now stands at 11-3 on the season.
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Tuesday when they play their OAC opener against Capital. Game time is scheduled for 7 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
