Ohio Northern wins 2011-12 Ohio Athletic Conference All-Sports Trophy

ADA — Ohio Northern has captured the 2011-12 Ohio Athletic Conference All-Sports Trophy.
The Polar Bears finished the academic season with 76.50 points, three points ahead of Mount Union for the title.
ONU won OAC championships in soccer, cross country, swimming and diving, softball and tennis and had a runner-up finish in basketball.
This marks the ninth time in the 28-year history of the event that Ohio Northern has won the crown.
The Polar Bears won the trophy four consecutive years from 2007-2010 and also won in 1985, 1987, 1988 and 1997.
Points are awarded based on the OAC finish of each of the league's 10 sports, with 10 points awarded for a first place finish, 9 for second, and so on.
Ohio Northern set an OAC record by sweeping the men's and women's trophies for four consecutive seasons from 2007-10.
