Women's Indoor Track & Field sits in fourth place after Day 1 of OAC Championships

BEXLEY — The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team is currently fourth after the first day of the OAC Championships in the Field House on the campus of Capital University.

The Polar Bears have 25 points after the first day of competition.

Mount Union holds the lead with 55 points, followed by Otterbein with 34.50 points and Baldwin Wallace with 30 points.

Northern had four individuals and the distance medley relay team place during the first day of competition.

The team of junior Rebekah McCutchen, freshman Alexis Kandel, freshman Emily Richards, and senior Catie Huber claimed a first place finish in the distance medley relay in 12:23.54.

Freshman Kelly Andrews finished fourth in the weight throw with a pitch of 14.83 meters.

Sophomore Rebecca Carman finished fifth in the long jump, with a leap of 4.98 meters. 

Senior Sarah Ballmer finished sixth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.33 meters.

Senior Sam Hoffman garnered a sixth place finish in the 3,000-meter run in 10:52.18.

The second day of competition begins on Saturday with field events at 10 am and running events at 2 pm.
