Luke Miller named NWCA Scholar All-American for third consecutive year
LACROSSE, Wis. — Ohio Northern senior All-American Luke Miller added another award to his collection, as he was named a Scholar All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
Miller is a three-time NWCA Scholar All-American after earning the award in each of his past three seasons.
The No. 11-ranked Ohio Northern wrestling team was named a Scholar All-America Team, finishing 21st in the nation with a 3.26 team GPA.
He is seeded fifth nationally at 165 pounds and is competing in the 2011 NCAA Division III Championships Fri.-Sat. at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, Wis.
Miller is 26-4 on the season at 165 pounds and is looking for his third consecutive All-American honor. He is the defending NCAA Champion at 157 pounds and is a two-time All-American at that weight class.
In four seasons as a Polar Bear, Miller has a 130-28 career record. He is three wins shy of tying the ONU all-time record of 133 wins set by 1989 national champion Vinny Cameron from 1986-89.
