Matt Molinaro finishes 6th in 800-meter run, earns All-America honors at NCAA III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships

GRINNELL, Iowa — Ohio Northern sophomore Matt Molinaro earned All-America honors in the 800-meter run on the second and final day of the NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Bear Recreation and Athletic Center.
Molinaro finished sixth of eight runners in the finals of the 800 in 1:56.41.
He qualified for the finals on Friday with a second place finish in his heat in the prelims in 1:54.58.
In the finals, Molinaro was in the middle of the pack until stumbling early in the fourth and final lap.
Mitchell Black of Tufts (Conn.) won the race in 1:52.48, Deko Ricketts of Washington (Mo.) was second in 1:53.661 and Cyrus Mason of Wisconsin-LaCrosse was third in 1:53.665.
The top eight finishers in each event earn All-America honors.
