Lammers vaults season best to lead No. 18 Men's Indoor Track & Field to victory at Joe Banks Invite
ADA- Senior Andrew Lammers turned in a season high vault of 14-11.00 to lead the Ohio Northern Men's Indoor Track & Field team to victory in the Joe Banks Invitational Friday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears won the event with 180.50 points while Baldwin-Wallace finished second with 131 points.
The 4x200 relay team of senior Justin Linzy, sophomore Ryan Fleming, freshman Travis Althouse and freshman Jacob Schwab also turned in a season best. They grabbed second in the event with a time of 1:31.41.
Schwab would also grab a third place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.18
The relay team of junior Jeff Otte, junior Mike Johnson, junior Brent Hiser and Schwab won the 4x400 relay in 3:33.41. Freshman Corey Bailey, freshman Nick Baker, freshman Chris Fortson and freshman Dan Smith came in third with a time of 3:36.41.
Junior Joe Amstutz won the 300-meter dash in 36.07. He also won the 500-meter dash in 1:06.16 with freshman Chris Fortson finishing third in 1:07.92.
Amstutz, sophomore Shnae Huntley, sophomore Evan Heyman and senior Jimmy O'Brien finished second in the 4x400 invitational only relay with a time of 3:20.28.
The Polar Bears had a 1-2 finish in the mile with junior Alan Bowsher finishing first in 4:30.98 and freshman Kevin Stack finishing second with a time of 4:31.21.
In the 5,000-meter run, senior Paul Lewis finished second in 15:37.77.
Sophomore Timothy Yeh won the triple jump with a leap 42-02.00.
Sophomore Patrick Rachow finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.57.
The Polar Bears will be in action again next Friday as they compete in the OAC Championships at Capital University.
