Sophomore Andrew Quintrell leads Men's Golf to seventh place finish at Wooster Bill Nye Invitational

WOOSTER — Sophomore Andrew Quintrell shot an 80-79—159 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a seventh place finish at the 16-team Wooster Bill Nye Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the Wooster Country Club.

The Polar Bears (53-27-3 overall) finished tied with John Carroll and Wabash (Ind.) with a 36-hole score of 664.

No 16-ranked Wittenberg won the team title with a 609, Mount Union was second with a 630 and Wooster was fourth with a 640.

Quintrell finished tied for 15th out of 90 golfers on the par-72, 6545-yard course.

Junior Colin Burns and sophomore Ted Loewendick tied for 41st with 168s, junior Ryan Wirtz tied for 47th with a 169 and freshman Rick Deichert tied for 50th with a 170.

Wittenberg's Sam Geise and Ben Hogenkamp tied for Medalist honors with 150s.

The Polar Bears will wrap up their regular season at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Friday-Sunday at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.
