Jansen sets two career-bests to lead WTrack at Joe Banks Inv.

DELAWARE — Ohio Northern sophomore Janelle Jansen set career-best marks in the long jump and pole vault to lead the Ohio Northern women’s track & field to first at the weather-shortened Joe Banks Invitational Saturday, at the ONU Track & Field Complex.

Jansen jumped 16-9.75 to take the long jump title and she tied for first with freshman teammate Jessica Naderer in the pole vault with marks of 10-6. Both marks are career-bests for Jansen as well as team-best jumps for the season.

Junior Dani Noe, who has provisionaly qualified for the for the NCAA Championships in the 400-meter hurdles, turned in a career-best mark in the 400-meter dash at 1:00.01. Her time is also the fastest for any Lady Polar Bear this season.

In the hammer throw, sophomore Courtney Zupancic finished third with a toss of 135-07 while freshman Tiffany Lerch finished fourth with a career-best heave of 126-06. Lerch (96-09) and Zupancic (93-09) also finished fourth in fifth, resectively, in the discus as freshman Melissa Goodman took second with a mark of 103-05.
