ADA — Katie Kidwell has been named an assistant volleyball coach at Ohio Northern University under first-year head coach Sophie Windover.
A native of Watseka, Ill., Kidwell comes to ONU following a standout career as a middle hitter at Bowling Green State University from 2017 to 2022.
A 2018 All-MAC First Team and 2020-21 All-MAC Second Team selection, Kidwell currently holds BGSU records for career block assists (528) and career total blocks (608) while recording 974 career kills. She was named to the 2017 MAC All-Freshman Team and was a three-time MAC Defensive Player of the Week honoree.
"I felt that I needed to be in the volleyball world again to help young women live their dream of becoming a college volleyball player like I once did. I am so grateful for the coaches I had over the years. If it was not for them, I would not be in the position I am in," Kidwell said. "I am so excited that I can help influence these young girls and use my passion to drive and influence the team. I am also excited to learn from the team and to be alongside Sophie to learn from her as well. I am very thankful to be part of such an amazing program and such a great group of girls at Ohio Northern."
Kidwell earned a bachelor's degree in human development and family studies from BGSU.
