Women's Track & Field finishes second at annual Joe Banks Invitational

ADA — Senior Stella DeWitt (Weston/Cardinal Stritch) won the long jump and 60-meter hurdles and was runner-up in the triple jump to lead the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team to a second place finish at the annual Joe Banks Invitational on Saturday at the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse.
The Polar Bears (4-2 overall) finished in second with 111 points. John Carroll won the team title with 155 points and Baldwin Wallace was third with 81 points.
DeWitt won the long jump with a leap of 5.41 meters and the 60-meter hurdles in :09.23 and was second in the triple jump with an effort of 10.63 meters.
Sophomores Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) and Cienna Kuhn (Elida) finished 1-2 in the pole vault with a vault of 3.2 meters, and 2.75 meters, respectively.
The 4x400 relay team of junior Mackenzie Detmer (Waterville/Liberty Center), junior Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove), freshman Julianna Herron (Miamisburg), sophomore Lexi Neff (Northfield/Walsh Jesuit) won in 4:20.85.
Sophomore Lexi Neff (Northfield/Walsh Jesuit) finished in second in the 1,000 in 3:12.74.
Freshman Emily Tackett (Deshler/Patrick Henry) finished second in the weight throw with a distance of 12.01 meters.
The 4x200 relay team of freshman Sydnee Perram (Port Clinton/Danbury), freshman Hope Stanley (Geneva), Kuhn, and Schatzle finished second at 1:58.30.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Sunday when they travel to the Mount Union Quad Meet.
