Women's Lacrosse captures a 14-7 win at Capital

COLUMBUS — Four Polar Bears earned hat tricks to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to a 14-7 victory at Capital in an Ohio Athletic Conference contest on a warm Wednesday evening.

- Records: Ohio Northern (9-6 Overall, 3-1 OAC), Capital (4-9 Overall, 0-5 OAC).

The Game
- Senior Elena Martin (Canfield) and sophomore Jaxsyn Murdock (Galloway/Alder) led the Polar Bears with three goals and one assist each.
- Senior Lydia Lehman (West Chester/Lakota West) and junior Abbi Arnold (Pickerington/Central) each added a three goal hat trick for ONU.
- Ohio Northern opened the first period on a 3-0 run.
- CU scored the first goal of the second period before ONU went on another 3-0, to take a 6-1 lead.
- Lehman and freshman Freshman Clarissa Hamilton (Marysville) scored back-to-back goals to begin the third period.
- The Polar Bears led 11-6 going into the fourth period.
- After a Capital goal, Northern's offense scored three straight goals to secure the win.
- Martin had a game-high three caused turnovers.
- Sophomore Kara Fox (South Euclid/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) had four saves and the win in goal for Ohio Northern.
- ONU out-shot CU 42-16 and had the ground ball advantage 24-16.
