Women's Lacrosse captures a 14-7 win at Capital

• Records: Ohio Northern (9-6 Overall, 3-1 OAC), Capital (4-9 Overall, 0-5 OAC).

The Game 

• Senior Elena Martin (Canfield) and sophomore Jaxsyn Murdock (Galloway/Alder) led the Polar Bears with three goals and one assist each. 
• Senior Lydia Lehman (West Chester/Lakota West) and junior Abbi Arnold (Pickerington/Central) each added a three goal hat trick for ONU. 
• Ohio Northern opened the first period on a 3-0 run.
• CU scored the first goal of the second period before ONU went on another 3-0, to take a 6-1 lead. 
• Lehman and freshman Freshman Clarissa Hamilton (Marysville) scored back-to-back goals to begin the third period. 
• The Polar Bears led 11-6 going into the fourth period. 
• After a Capital goal, Northern's offense scored three straight goals to secure the win. 
• Martin had a game-high three caused turnovers. 
• Sophomore Kara Fox (South Euclid/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) had four saves and the win in goal for Ohio Northern. 
• ONU out-shot CU 42-16 and had the ground ball advantage 24-16.

• Martin is the all-time career goals leader with 148.
• She also has a school record 247 draw controls, including a team-best 66 this season.
• Martin is also second in career points with 194, in caused turnovers with 93, and assists with 46.
• Martin leads the Polar Bears in scoring this season with 64 points on 49 goals and 15 assists.
• Lehman is second with 37 points on 15 goals and 23 assists. 
• Martin is the team leader in ground balls this season with 42.
• Hoersten is second in ONU history in career goals with 137 and third in points with 167. 
• She also has the ONU career record in free-position goals with 45.
• Head coach Margo Vandeveld is in her third season at Ohio Northern and has a 28-22 record, a winning percentage of .560.
