Sophomore Amy Bullimore leads No. 16-ranked Women's Basketball team to 67-63 victory over Baldwin Wallace

BEREA - Sophomore Amy Bullimore had a career day as the the No.16-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team extended its winning streak to 11 games and defeated Baldwin Wallace 67-63 Saturday afternoon at Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.
The Polar Bears improve to 13-2 overall and 8-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 9-6, 5-3.
Bullimore paced the Polar Bears with a career-high and game-high 26 points, a career-high and game-high 12 rebounds and a game-high three blocks.
Seniors Karissa Steffas and Carly Thomas added 11 points and nine points for Northern, respectively.
After a layup by Steffas tied the game at 23-23 with 6:15 remaining in the second quarter, BW would go on an 11-2 run to open up a nine point lead with 4:07 remaining in the first half.
From there, Northern would close the half on a 10-3 run to close the gap to 38-35 at the intermission.
The Yellow Jackets would open up their biggest lead of the night after a three pointer from Catie Smith gave BW a 51-41 lead with 4:33 remaining in the third quarter.
ONU would end the period with back-to-back three pointers from Thomas and junior Angela Tesny to pull within 53-47.
Northern opened the fourth quarter with a 9-3 run capped off by a layup from senior Brooke Espenschied to tie the game at 56-56 and force a BW timeout with 5:19 remaining in the contest.
After multiple lead changes, the Polar Bears would gain the lead for good as junior Britt Lauck drilled a three pointer to give Northern the 64-63 lead with 1:12 left to play.
Northern would sink three of their last four free throws en route to a 67-63 victory.
The Polar Bears shot 26-of-48 (54.2 percent) from the field including 5-of-13 (38.5 percent) from beyond the arc, while the Yellow Jackets shot 23-of-59 (39.0 percent) including 10-of-25 (40.0 percent) from the three point line.
Northern outrebounded Baldwin Wallace by a 35-25 margin.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday as they play host to Heidelberg at 7:30 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
