Meet Previews: Ohio Northern opens its 2023 outdoor season with a split-squad weekend at the Washington (Mo.) Distance Carnival and the Tiffelberg Open … Four Polar Bears are competing in the Washington (Mo.) meet on Friday and Saturday … Junior Kyle Roth is running in the 10,000 meters, sophomore Trey Masterson and junior Aaron Guzman are running in the 5,000 meters and senior Breydan Hann is running in the 3,000-meter steeplechase … The remaining team members will compete in Saturday's Tiffelberg Open … Field events begin at 10 a.m., and running events begin at 11:30 a.m. … The Polar Bears are coming off an indoor season that saw them finish with a 21-2 record and 12 All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors among 10 different athletes … Junior Keegan Digby broke the school record in the shot put with a mark of 17.13 meters and capped the season with his second straight OAC championship in the indoor shot put en route to placing fourth at the NCAA Championships to earn All-American recognition … Digby is the program's first All-American in the indoor shot put … Digby also holds the school record in the outdoor shot put at 16.38 meters, which he set at the 2022 NCAA Championships to place seventh and earn All-American status … Junior Trey Myers is the reigning OAC champion in the outdoor 800 meters and was All-OAC in the 4x400 relay last season … Other returning All-OAC honorees from the 2022 outdoor season include seniors Hunter Kesler (200), Brooks Blakeley (4x800 relay), Brandon Berry (4x100 relay) and Vini Souza (4x100 relay, 4x400 relay), juniors David Gross (4x400 relay, 4x800 relay) and Canyon Neundorfer (4x800 relay) and sophomores Ryan Massie (4x800 relay) and Landon Remmert (4x400 relay).
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 14th season as the head coach at ONU … He owns a 599-145 overall record indoors for an .805 winning percentage and a 508-142-2 overall record outdoors for a .781 winning percentage.
