Saturday's Meet: The Ohio Northern men's track and field team will continue its 2021 outdoor season on Saturday at the 10-team OAC Elite Meet at Otterbein's Memorial Stadium ... Field events will start at 11 am, jumping events will start at 3 pm and running events at 4 pm ... The top 8 places will score points in the team standings (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) ... The Polar Bears are coming off a first place finish at the 5-team Heidelberg Tyson Invitational last Saturday at Hoernemann Stadium ... Seniors Alex Sube and Travis Sutter each won events to lead Ohio Northern ... The Polar Bears (17-4 overall) won the 5-team meet with 203 points ... Sube won the hammer throw with a heave of 51.22 meters and Sutter won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:27.02 ... Junior Nate Dean won the 100-meter dash in :10.86 ... Juniors Luke Shellhaas and Andrew Buderer finished 1-2 in the pole vault with each man clearing 4.55 meters ... Freshman David Gross won the 400 in :50.58 and freshman Trey Myers won the 800 in 1:54.76 ... On the national level, the NCAA accounced field sizes of 17 individuals and 14 relay teams for the 2021 NCAA Championships May 27-29 at Greensboro, N.C. ... Dean currently ranks 6th in the 200 with a season-best time of :21.63 ... Eight more Polar Bears are within striking range of qualifying in other events ... In the 800, Myers is 21st (1:54.76) and senior Sam Krabacher is 32nd (1:55.15) ... Senior Owen Lloyd is 21st in the 110 hurdles (:15.05) ... Senior Colin McCullough is 32rd in the 400 hurdles (:55.39) ... Shellhaas and Buderer are tied for 24th in the pole vault (4.55m) ... Freshman Keegan Digby is 34th in the shot put (14.89m) ... Sube is 29th in the hammer throw (51.22m) ... ONU's 4x100 relay team is 28th (:42.45)
