Men's Lacrosse competes relentlessly, but falls 15-14 at Baldwin Wallace in battle of league leaders

BEREA — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team gave an outstanding effort, but fell short 15-14 at Baldwin Wallace in an incredible Ohio Athletic Conference contest on a cool Wednesday night.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (9-6 Overall, 5-1 OAC), Baldwin Wallace (12-3 Overall, 7-0 OAC).

The Game
- Junior Jack Chaney (Westerville/South) led the Polar Bears with six points on one goal and five assists.
- Senior Nathan Flynn (Springboro) had three goals and an assist to lead Northern.
- Sophomore Eli Ferguson (Springboro) had three goals in the contest.
- Freshman Landon Laney (Durham, N.C./Westtown) put ONU on the scoreboard by finding the back of the net in the first period.
- Baldwin Wallace took a 3-2 lead after the first period.
- Flynn found the only goal in the second period for ONU as BW held a 5-3 at halftime.
- Senior Mark Mintzlaff (St. Louis, Mo./Country Day) found the net to start the third period for Ohio Northern.
- After a Yellow Jacket goal, Hale and Ferguson each scored goals to tie the game 6-6.
- The Polar Bears scored four goals to Baldwin Wallaces two, giving ONU the 10-8 advantage going into the fourth period.
- Baldwin Wallace opened the fourth period on a 5-0, but Ohio Northern responded with a 3-0 run of their own, tying it at 13 with 6:18 left in the game.
- BW scored with 5:49 left, but Chaney scored two minutes later to tie it at 14.
- The Yellow Jackets broke the tie with 2:57 remaining on the game clock.
