Senior Samantha Roth named OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Samantha Roth (Brunswick) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Oct. 13-19.

This marks her first career OAC Runner of the Week accolade.

The recognition comes after she led ONU across the finish line, placing 5th overall of 200 runners at the Roanoke (Va.) South Region Showdown Invitational on Saturday in a career-best 6k time of 22:04. She took 15 seconds off her previous best time of 22:19.

Ohio Northern finished 2nd out of 20 teams with 65 points.

Roth's time ties her for sixth on ONU's all-time list for 6,000 meters.

The Polar Bears return to action on Nov. 1 at the OAC Championships at Otterbein at 11 a.m.
