WESTERVILLE — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team opened its second consecutive meet with a victory at the Otterbein Invational on a cloudy Saturday morning.

The Basics

  • Record: Ohio Northern (14-0 Overall)
  • Race Info: The event was a 6,000-meter race held at the Otterbein College Cross Country Course.

  • Senior Samantha Roth (Brunswick) led ONU across the finish line, placing 2nd overall in the 100-woman field in 22.19.
  • Junior AnnaSophia Gower (Perrysburg) was 3rd in 22.44..
  • Senior Natalie Armbruster (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) was 6th in 23.06.
  • Freshman Laura Tanner (Wayne/Elmwood) was 12th in 23.21.
  • Senior Dani Widmark (Zanesfield/Benjamin Logan) was 15th in 23.35

  • The Polar Bears were 1st out of eight OAC schools at the Otterbein Invational Meet 
  • Roth's 22.19 moves her into 13th place all-time in ONU history for 6,000 meters.
  • She trimmed 16 seconds off of her previous best time of 22.35.
  • Armbruster PR's her 6,000-meter time of 23.06.
  • 17th-year head coach Jason Maus is now 1,415-530 as head coach of the ONU women's cross country program and is the winningest coach in program history.
