Rachel Jennings named OAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 19-25.
This marks the second straight week that Jennings has earned the accolade. It is the fourth such honor of her career.
Jennings tallied 80 digs in the Polar Bears' three-game set in the Mount Saint Joseph Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
She notched a season-high 34 digs in a 3-0 loss to Transylvania, 21 in a 3-1 loss to Christopher Newport (Va.) and 25 more in a 3-1 victory over Mount Saint Joseph.
Jennings now has 236 digs on the season, which leads the team and ranks sixth in the OAC. She ranks fifth in the conference at 4.92 digs per set and has 741 digs in her career.
The Polar Bears (10-4 overall) return to the court on Wednesday for a road game at No. 8 Wittenberg at 7 p.m.
