Freshman Taylor Baxter named OAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

ADA — The Ohio Athletic Conference has named Ohio Northern freshman Taylor Baxter (Bellevue) as its Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
This marks Baxter's first career OAC Player of the Week honor. She earns the accolade after helping lead the No. 13 Polar Bears to 3-0 sweeps of defending OAC Tournament champion Muskingum and Marietta last week to improve their record to 14-1, including 3-0 in conference play.
Against Muskingum, Baxter hit a career-high .647 and tallied 11 kills, a career-high five service aces and three blocks. She committed no errors on 17 total attacks.
She was again error-free against Marietta, hitting .625 with 10 kills on 16 attacks to go with three blocks and two aces.
Baxter has tallied double-digit kills in 10 of 15 games this season and leads the team in kills (157) and blocks (54) and is second in hitting percentage (.377).
She leads the OAC in blocks, is second in hitting percentage and eighth in kills.
The Polar Bears return to the court on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. home match against Baldwin Wallace at the ONU Sports Center.
