This Weekend's Preview: The No. 18-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team will make the short 13-mile trek to area-rival Bluffton this weekend for the Bluffton Spiketacular at the Sommer Center ... The Polar Bears will open the tournament Friday night at 7 pm against #23 Thomas More (Ky.) looking to avenge a season-opening 3-2 setback at the 40th Annual ONU Invitational last Friday ... ONU will then face DePauw (Ind.) on Saturday at Noon before concluding the tournament against tournament host Bluffton at 2 pm ... ONU is coming off a 25-14, 25-13, 25-9 victory over Denison on Wednesday night at the ONU Sports Center ... Junior Chelsea Huppert had 11 kills and junior McKenna Jordan added 10 kills for Ohio Northern ... Through 5 matches this season, Jordan leads the team and the OAC with 69 kills, while Huppert os second on the team and fourth in the league with 62 kills ... Sophomore Katie Wade leads the league with 211 assists, junior Madison Broering leads the league with 114 digs and senior Josie Andres leads the OAC with a .569 hitting percentage ... Wade currently ranks ninth all-time in ONU history with 1,580 assists ... ONU head coach Kate Witte needs just three more wins to reach the 700-win plateau ... She is ONU's and the OAC's all-time winningest coach in volleyball history.
