Women's Outdoor Track and Field wins 6-team at Manchester (Ind.) Invitational

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. — The Ohio Northern women's track and field team won four events en route to the team title at the Manchester (Ind.) Invitational on a rainy Saturday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern was first of six collegiate teams with 199 points.
- Record: Ohio Northern (21-5 Overall).
- Trine (Ind.) was second with 193 points, Manchester (Ind.) was third with 128 points, Franklin (Ind.) was fourth with 47 points, Defiance was fifth with 44 points and Goshen (Ind.) was sixth with 6 points.

Top ONU Performers
- Junior Katelyn Wagner (Sycamore/Wynford) won the shot put with a heave of 12.72 meters.
- Sophomore Avery Baker-Schlendering (Freeport, Maine) won the high jump by clearing a career-best 1.65 meters.
- Sophomore Alexa Lane (Lebanon) won the 400-meter hurdles in a season-best 1:08.20.
- Freshman Julian Gaier (Fort Loramie) won the hammer throw at 36.79 meters.
- Senior Riley Heitkamp (Fort Loramie) was second in the event at 1.60 meters, which was also a career-best.
- Junior Anna Brady (Sidney) was second in the discus at 35.98 meters and in the shot put at 12.27.
- Sophomore Lauren Gossett (Beloit/West Branch) was second in the triple jump at 9.96 meters.
- Sophomore Je'Leycia Procter (Dayton/Early College) was second in the 100-meter hurdles in 15:52.
- Sophomore Tatum Walsh (Lima/Bath) was second in the 400 in 1:00.44.
- Sophomore Anna Marchiny (Beavercreek) won the pole vault unopposed by clearing 3.20 meters.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 18 events - 8 field events, eight running events and two relays.
- Baker-Schlendering is now tied for fifth all-time in ONU history in the high jump with her 1.65m effort. She is also currently ranked No. 25 nationally this season in the event.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 17th year at Ohio Northern and is 539-178-3 in women's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .751. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
