Senior Izzy Burman named OAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week for third time this season

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 21-27.
This is Burman's seventh time receiving the honor in her career and third time this season.
The recognition comes after shattering her own school record in the shot put at the Ashland Open on Friday and Saturday. She won the event with at throw of 13.68 meters (44' 10.75"), breaking her previous record by 1' 2.75".
Burman now ranks 15th nationally in the shot put and first in the OAC. She also ranks 12th nationally and first in the OAC in the hammer and 5th in the OAC in the discus.
Burman was the OAC Champion in the shot put and hammer throw last year at the outdoor conference meet.
The Polar Bears return to action on Thursday and Friday at the OAC Championships in Wilmington, Ohio.
