Six Polar Bears named All-Great Lakes Region in Women's Outdoor Track and Field for 2024 by USTFCCCA

ADA — Six Ohio Northern athletes were named All-Great Lakes Region in women's outdoor track and field for 2024 by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches of America.
Juniors Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton), Hannah Friend (Luckey/Eastwood), Chloe Gibson (Ostrander/Buckeye Valley), Ashley Hockstok (Westerville/Central) and sophomores Kennedy Rader (Mason) and Claire Schweller (Paulding) all earned the award.
The top five individuals in each event and each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team from each region earned All-Region honors.
Burman ranks fifth in the region in the hammer throw with a school record toss of 50.40 meters.
Friend is third in the discus at 43.05 meters.
Gibson is fifth in the long jump at 5.58 meters.
Rader is fourth in the 10,000-meter run in 36:35.80, with Hockstok right behind in fifth in 36:41.09.
Schweller is a reigning national qualifier in the indoor pole vault. She is second in the region outdoors this year at 3.93 meters after clearing 3.90 meters indoors this winter.
The 2024 outdoor season concludes May 23-25 at the NCAA Division III Championships in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The top 22 individuals in each event and top 16 school relay teams will qualify for the national meet.
