Emily Richards and Allison Gast lead Women's Track & Field as they finish fourth at the All-Ohio Championships

WESTERVILLE — The Ohio Northern women's track and field team finished fourth of 17 teams Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships hosted at the Clements Recreation Center on the campus of Otterbein University.
The Polar Bears improve to 43-7 on the season.
Junior Allison Gast had a career-day as she broke the school record in the 60-meter hurdles and finished second in :8.96.
Gast also took sixth place in the 60-meter dash in :8.06.
Sophomore Emily Richards also had a career-day for the Polar Bears as she finished first in the 400-meter dash and broke the school record held by former Polar Bear Erin Hipp in :58.13.
In the 4x200-meter relay the team of Gast, senior Kristine Wagner, junior Meagan Ellinger and Richards broke the school record and finished third in the event in 1:46.80.
Ellinger also finished ninth in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.18.
In the 1-mile run, senior Rebekah McCutchen took fifth place in 5:17.04.
Junior Kelsey Commager took fifth place in the long jump with a jump of 17 feet 8.25 inches, while freshman Stephanie Walton finished seventh with a jump of 17 feet 2.25 inches.
Commager also took third place in the triple jump, jumping 36 feet 5.00 inches, while junior Dianna-Johnson Ward took fifth with a jump of 35 feet 7.25 inches and junior Rebecca Carman finished ninth, jumping 34 feet 11.75 inches.
In the high jump, senior Julie Amos took sixth place with a jump of 5 feet 3.00 inches.
Freshman Maddy Reed finished fourth in polar vault, vaulting 11 feet 6.50 inches, while sophomore Kelly Wollenslegel finished seventh with a jump of 10 feet 8.75 inches.
Freshman Tia Harris made her way in to the top-10 in shot put as she finished seventh with a throw of 39 feet 1.00 inches.
In the weight throw, junior Rebecca Olashuk finished ninth with a throw of 47 feet 1.75 inches.
In the pentathlon, Wagner finished fifth overall with 3,006 points.
The distance medley relay team of frehman Michaela Fox, freshman Avery Ewing, freshman Taylor Fisher, and freshman Colleen Grainger claimed a ninth place finish with a time of 13:20.03.
The team of Richards, Ellinger, and freshmen Taylor Fisher and Avery Ewing finished the day off for Northern on a strong point as they finished sixth in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:09.28.
The Polar Bears return to action Saturday as they travel to the Rick Meindl Last Call Meet in Columbus.
