Steinbrunner, Moga win events to lead Women's Outdoor Track & Field on Day 2 of OAC Championships

ALLIANCE -- Senior Alison Steinbrunner captured the 5,000-meter run and senior Vicki Moga won the high jump to lead the Ohio Northern women's outdoor track & field team at the OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Mount Union.
ONU (27-26-1 overall) ended the meet in fifth place with 87 points.
Mount Union won the team title with 202.5 points, Heidelberg was second with 106 points and Marietta finished third with 98.5 points.
Steinbrunner posted a time of 17:36.83, which was nearly 30 seconds faster than the next finisher.
She was also named OAC Distance Runner of the Year.
Moga cleared 1.58 meters (5-2.25) to give her the championship.
Senior Lydia Weaver overcame a fall on the first lap of the 1,500-meter run to finish second for All-OAC honors with a time of 4:53.53.
Weaver also finished sixth in the 5,000-meter run in 18:44.93.
Sophomore Catie Huber earned All-OAC accolades in the 800-meter run with a third place finish in 2:18.85.
The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomores Shannon Hageman, Gabrielle Metzner, freshman Brittany Lee and Huber finished third for All-OAC honors in 4:04.22.
Senior Casey Adamcik was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 11:56.59 and freshman Sam Hoffman was eighth in 12:25.10.
The 4x100-meter relay tandem of Metzer, Hageman, Lee and freshman Kristine Wagner finished fifth with a time of 50.12 seconds.
In the hammer throw, freshman Michaela Dramis brought home a fifth place finish with a throw of 44.35 meters (145-6).
Freshman Brianna Rambadt finished sixth in the high jump, clearing 1.53 meters (5-0.25).
Junior Emily Blum was seventh in the triple jump, leaping 10.38 meters (34-0.75).
Juniors Brooke Larsen and Erin Radigan finished seventh and eighth in the 1,500-meter run with times of 5:01.10 and 5:04.17, respectively.
"Yesterday was a rough day for us," said head coach Jason Maus. "Across the board, we had a lot of season and personal bests. We competed well and fought hard all day and were able to bounce back."
Ohio Northern will return to action again on May 9, when it participates at the Dr. Keller Invitational in Naperville, Ill.
