Women's Track & Field compete at North Central's Dr. Keeler Invitational

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Polar Bear women's track & field team is heading down the stretch of the 2011 season, as it competed at North Central's (Ill.) Dr. Keeler Invitational, Thursday and Friday.
Junior Mallory Bloom (Kenton) earned the highest finish for the Northern women during the event, taking fifth in the 10,000-meter run in 39:24.94.
Also placing in the Top 10 was senior Courtney Zupnancic (North Ridgeville) finished eighth in the hammer throw at 142-7.
Also competing were juniors Kelly Casanova (Copley) and Lauren Wood (Centerburg) in the 5,000, sophomore Lydia Weaver (Chilicothe/Zane Trace) in the 1,500-meter run and junior Brooke Bohanan (Grove City/Central Crossing) in the steeplechase.
The Polar Bears finish out the season at North Central next weekend for the Gregory Invitational before finding out the field for the 2011 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the end of the month.
