Women's Outdoor Track & Field finishes eighth at Mount Union Invitational

ALLIANCE — The Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team had eight team members score points for a solid team performance at the Mount Union Invitational on Saturday.
Ohio Northern finished eighth with 40 points in the 11-team event. Placing first was Malone with 137.5 points.
Sophomore Nicole Hope placed in two events, winning the pole vault with a height of 12-1.5. She also placed eighth in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.55.
Junior Aubrie Stechschulte also had an impressive performance, tying for second in the pole vault with a vault of 10-11.75 and placing eighth in the long jump with a 13-4.25 jump.
The Polar Bears had two third-place finishes from seniors Brittany Farber and Rachel Smith. Farber placed in the 400-meter dash in 59.46 and Smith in the 5,000-meter run in 18:41.99.
Placing sixth were freshmen Vicki Moga in the high jump with a height of 4-11.75 and Casey Adamick in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 13:09.22.
Rounding out the scorers for Ohio Northern were sophomores Ashley Sottoway and Ashton Dennen. Sottway placed seventh in the 800-meter run in 2:26.73 and Dennen eighth in the 1,500-meter run in 5:12.50
The Polar Bears return to action next Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan.
