Women's Tennis wraps up fall schedule with 7-0 shutout of Adrian (Mich.)

LIMA — Sophomore Lauren Okrainec (Ingersoll, ON, Canada/Ingersoll Collegiate) and senior Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) led the Ohio Northern women's tennis team to a 7-0 shutout of Adrian (Mich.) indoors Saturday afternoon.

Match Highlights
- Okrainec won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and combined with freshman Amy Grace Beebe (Hudson/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) to win 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
- Hurst won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and joined sophomore Leah Schleibaum (West Chester/Lakota West) to win 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
- Beebe was also 2-0 on the day with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.
- Senior Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) won 6-2, 2-6, 10-6 at No. 1 singles.
- Senior Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
- Freshman Audrey Austin (Perry) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.

- Thus far this season, Cruser leads the Polar Bears with a 10-9 overall record, going a team-best 6-4 in singles and 4-5 in doubles.
- Hurst and Bell each have nine overall victories.
- Hurst is also 6-4 in singles this season.
- Bell is 112-65 overall in her career.
- Cruser is 110-69 overall in her career.
- Hurst is 99-54 in her career and needs just one more win to become the third member of the current squad to join ONU's 100-Win Club.
- Fourth-year head coach Sean Swisher is 54-16 at the helm of the ONU women's tennis team, a winning percentage of .771.
