Women's Swimming and Diving team finishes third at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships

AKRON — Sophomore Kate Kalmanowicz (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) and freshman Catherine Greenlee (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) earned All-Conference honors to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team on the final day of the 2026 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships meet on Saturday.
The Basics
- Records Ohio Northern (3-5 overall, 2-2 OAC).
- Ohio Northern finished third of five teams with 488 points
- Mount Union placed first with 951 points, Baldwin Wallace finished second with 810 points, Heidelberg finished fourth with 417 points and Wilmington is fifth with 273 points.
- Venue: Ocasek Natatorium — Akron, Ohio.
ONU Individual Highlights
- Kalmanowicz was All-Conference in the 200-yard fly, finishing second in 2:18.23.
- Greenlee earned All-Conference honors in the 100 free in :52.56 to finish second.
- Kalmanowicz and Greenlee also combined with sophomore Abby Leatherman (Findlay/Van Buren), and senior Lindsay Weininger (Upper Sandusky) to finish third in the 400 free relay in 3:43.66.
- Sophomore Gillian Yoder (Waterville/Anthony Wayne) finished fifth in the 1-meter diving with 306.50 points.
- Leatherman was also seventh in the 100 free in :56.04.
- Senior Lindsay Weininger (Upper Sandusky) was seventh in the 200 back in 2:20.76.
- Sophomore Lila DeLong (New Albany) was seventh in the 200 fly in 2:27.62.
- Sophomore Liv Elliott (Marysville/Stem Early College) was seventh in the 1650 free in 19:54.68.
- Freshman Chloe Schopperth (Centerville) was seventh in the 200 breast in 2:40.76.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 20 events over four days, including 13 individual races, two diving events and five relays.
- Greenlee is now third all-time in the free at :52.66.
- The top three individuals and the top two relay teams in each event earn All-Conference honors.
- Austin Veltman is 33-36 in his seventh season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
