Women's Swimming and Diving opens 2026 OAC Championships with All-Conference effort in 800 free relay

AKRON — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team opened the 2026 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships meet with an All-Conference effort in the 800 free relay on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

Records Ohio Northern (3-5 overall, 2-2 OAC).
Ohio Northern is second of five teams with 34 points.
Mount Union leads the team standings with 40 points, Baldwin Wallace was second with 32 points and Wilmington is fourth with 30 points.
Venue: Ocasek Natatorium — Akron, Ohio.

Meet Highlights

Freshman Catherine Greenlee (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll), sophomore Abby Leatherman (Findlay/Van Buren), sophomore Lila DeLong (New Albany) and sophomore Kate Kalmanowicz (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) were second in 8:12.13, earning All-OAC honors.

Notables

The meet consists of 20 events over four days, including 13 individual races, two diving events and five relays.
The 800 free relay was the only event contested on Wednesday.
The top three individuals and the top two relay teams in each event earn All-Conference honors.
Austin Veltman is 33-36 in his eighth season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
