Women's Swimming and Diving opens 2025-26 season with 1-1 record at tri-meet at Heidelberg

AKRON — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team opened its 2025-26 season with a victory at Heidelberg and a loss to Bethel (Ind.) in a tri-meet on Saturday.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (1-1 overall, 1-0 OAC), Heidelberg (0-2 Ovaerall, 0-1 OAC), Bethel (Ind.) (3-0 Overall).
- Venue: Tiffin YMCA - Tiffin, Ohio.
- Ohio Northern defeated Heidelberg 109-83 and fell to Bethel 171-31. Bethel defeated Heidelberg 170-34.
Meet Highlights
- Freshman Catherine Greenlee (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) was third in the 50 free in :26.03 and was third in the 100 free in :58.57.
- Sophomore Kate Kalmanowicz (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) was third in the 200 free in 2:07.56 and was fourth in thge 200 fly in 2:29.46.
- Sophomore Abby Leatherman (Findlay/Van Buren) was fourth in the 200 breast in 2:40.51 and was fourth in the 200 I.M. in 2:24.07.
- Sophomore Lila DeLong (New Albany) was fourth in the 500 free in 6:12.59.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 13 events, including 11 individual races and relays.
- Ohio Northern has won 7 OAC Championships titles since 2007.
- Austin Veltman is 31-33 in his eighth season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
