Women's Soccer defeats Heidelberg 3-0 for second straight victory

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team defeated Heidelberg 3-0 on Wednesday night for its second straight win. The Polar Bears have now won three of their past four games.

- Senior Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) opened the scoring with a goal in the 34th minute on assists from juniors Alexa Clampitt (Sterling Heights, Mich./Utica Academy for International Studies) and Emma Bowman (Novi, Mich./Northville).
- The Polar Bears took that 1-0 lead into halftime.
- Sophomore Kiera Kaeser (Ashland) found the back of the net in the 52nd minute.
- Sophomore Haley Cannon capped the scoring with a goal in the 64th minute.
- Freshman Morgan Moeller (Harrison/Roger Bacon) played all 90 minutes in goal for ONU and recorded one save in the shutout.
- Roberts, Cannon and sophomore Nora Metcalf (Herndon, Va.) led ONU with five shots each in the game.
- Ohio Northern out-shot Heidelberg 32-2 and had a 12-0 edge in corner kicks.

- Northern leads the all-time series with Heidelberg by a 28-11-3 margin, including a 16-3-1 mark in Ada and 6-0 at Kerscher Stadium. ONU has won 26 of the past 27 meetings dating back to 1997.
- Roberts has now scored in two straight games. Her goal on Wednesday was the 14th of her career, and she now has 35 career points.
- Kaeser's goal was her first of the season and second of her career.
