Jane Reiring named OAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Jane Reiring (Cincinnati/Country Day) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 10-16.

Reiring earns the first OAC Player of the Week accolade of her career on the heels of her performance in the Polar Bears' 1-0 victory at Heidelberg and 5-0 home win over John Carroll last week.

She was part of an ONU defense that allowed only six shots, including just one on goal, in those shutout victories. The Polar Bears now have eight shutouts on the season.

Reiring also contributed offensively, tallying two assists in the win over JCU.

Currently in second place in the OAC standings and riding a seven-game unbeaten streak, the Polar Bears (8-1-4 overall, 3-0-2 OAC) return to action on Wednesday at Wilmington at 7 p.m.
