ADA — Ohio Northern senior Carissa Beckham (Mason/Mount Notre Dame) was named an All-American by United Soccer Coaches on Wednesday, adding to her already impressive list of accolades.
Beckham, a defender, is one of the 51 members of the 2021 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's All-America Team as a member of the Third Team.
This recognition makes Beckham the sixth player to earn All-American status in the history of ONU women's soccer, joining Jenna Fuller (1st Team, 2019), Hannah Reich (1st Team, 2017), Haley Moses (3rd Team, 2019), Tara Tokar (3rd Team, 2011 and 2012) and Chelsea Albert (3rd Team, 2010).
Earlier this season, Beckham was named First Team All-Region 7 by United Soccer Coaches and First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference.
A three-year starter and three-time All-OAC honoree, Beckham was part of a Polar Bear defense that limited opponents to just 15 goals (0.68 per game) this season while posting 14 shutouts.
She has four points via one goal and two assists in 67 career games, including 59 starts.
This year's All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at the Kansas City Convention Center in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
The Polar Bears posted a record of 14-5-3 and won their fourth OAC Tournament championship in 2021 to earn their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
