Gray explodes for three first half goals en route to 3-1 victory in second Women's Soccer Polar Bear Cup intrasquad scrimmage

ADA — Senior Jenna Fuller (Countryside, Ill./Lyons Township) scored twice to lead the Gray team to a 3-1 victory over the Black squad in the second Polar Bear Cup women's soccer intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.
Fuller scored in the third and 10th minute and freshman Alex Hoeffel (Continental) scored with 12 seconds left in the first half as the Gray team led 3-0 at intermission.
Sophomore Cienna Kuhn (Elida) got Black on the board with a goal in the 42nd minute off an assist from junior Caroline Goeller (Dayton/Oakwood) to make it 3-1.
Junior Kristy Catrine (Springboro) had four saves in goal to improve to 2-0-0 in the series.
The teams played 30 minute halves in the scrimmage.
The match was the second in a series of five intrasquad matches on Thursdays in October for the ONU women's soccer program. Each player on the winning team will receive three points and each player will receive a point for each goal its team scores during the match each week.
After two weeks, Hoeffel, Catrine and seven others all have 11 points. Fuller and nine other players have six points and 10 others have one point.
The teams will be shuffled around each week and an individual winner or winners will be crowned after the last match on Oct. 29.
