JACKSON, MS - Select members of the Ohio Northern women's soccer team participated in the Habitat for Humanity projects in Jackson Mississippi and Sumter, S.C. over spring break.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that builds homes for those in need around the globe.
"It was very satisfying being able to work hard all day for a good cause," said sophomore soccer player Kathleen Carley. "I was also fortunate enough to work with ten other people I had never met before."
"I love getting to help others and make incredible memories at the same time," said sophomore Ellie Schmalzl. "I am so glad to be here working with teammates as well as other ONU students."
"These past few days have been filled with great memories with some of my teammates and with some new friends! All around a great experience so far," said junior Alex Weirich.
"Overall it was really nice to meet so many new people and to get to hear their stories as well as becoming closer with familiar faces," said junior Nicole Berry.
The Polar Bears open up their 2015 campaign with a home contest, as they play host to Kenyon on September 1 at 7:30 pm.
