Johnson named OAC Wrestler of the Year, leads list of Eight Polar Bears named All-Conference in Wrestling for 2026

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Myles Johnson (Springboro) was named the John Summa Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Year and freshman Londen Murphy (Moscow/Moeller) won the Most Falls/Least Amount of Time Award to lead eight Polar Bears named All-OAC in Wrestling for the 2026 season.
Johnson, sophomore Casper Caizzo (Norwalk/St. Paul) and freshman Kurt Mokros (Lewis Center/Olentangy) were named First Team All-OAC.
Murphy, sophomores Chase Vanderhorst (Covington) and Jovanni Greco (Ross) and freshmen Ben Hegler (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and Jack Hoffman (Springboro) were Second Team selections.
Johnson is now a two-time All-OAC honoree, while all the other men are first-time selections.
Johnson is ranked No. 13 nationally at 197 pounds this season by the NWCA. He leads the team with a 31-4 overall record and a 6-0 record in the OAC, and also has eight falls, nine tech falls and three major decisions.
In two years at ONU, Johnson is 71-10 overall and 13-0 in the OAC with 17 falls, 26 tech falls and eight major decisions. Last season, he earned a bid to the NCAA III Championships.
Murphy has a 26-4 overall record and 5-1 OAC record this season at 157 pounds. He leads the team with 13 falls to go with eight tech falls and one major decision.
Caizzo also led the team with a 6-0 OAC record and had an overall record of 30-7 this season. He was second on the team with 12 falls to go with three tech falls and four major decisions at 141 pounds.
In his career, Caizzo is 57-14 overall and 7-2 in the OAC with 17 pins, 10 tech falls and seven major decisions.
Mokros is second on the team with a 32-8 overall record and also has a team-best 6-0 OAC record. He has six falls, five tech falls and five major decisions at 125 pounds in his first season at ONU.
Vanderhorst posted a 14-2 overall record and 4-0 OAC record at 133 pounds this season. He recorded seven falls, two tech falls and three major decisions.
In his career at ONU, he has an overall record of 34-16 and a 5-2 OAC record, along with 12 pins, nine tech falls and six major decisions.
Greco led the team this season with 13 major decisions at 149 pounds. He posted a 29-7 overall record, 3-0 OAC record, two falls and four tech falls.
In two years at ONU, he is 51-11 overall and 3-0 in the OAC and has six falls, 11 tech falls and 17 major decisions.
Hegler had a 26-8 overall record and 5-1 OAC record in his first season as a Polar Bear. He was third on the team with 10 pins and had five tech falls and three major decisions at 165 pounds.
Hoffman posted a 14-9 record and 4-1 OAC record at 174 pounds this season. He recorded three falls, six tech falls and five major decisions.
The No. 21-ranked Polar Bears are 14-4 overall and 5-1 in the OAC this season. They return to action on Friday and Saturday when they host the NCAA III Region IV Championships at 10 a.m.
