Wrestling earns a 4th place finish at the Washington & Lee (Va.) Invitational on Saturday

LEXINGTON, V.a. — The Ohio Northern wrestling team placed fourth of 11 teams at the Washington & Lee (Va.) Invitational on Saturday.

The Basics

• Records: Ohio Northern (7-1 Overall)
• Wisconsin-Eau Claire (Wisc.) won the team title with 181 points, No. 16-ranked Elizabethtown (Pa.) placed second with 116 points and No. 6 Roanoke (Va.) placed third with 108.5 points
• Ohio Northern placed fourth with 89.5 points. 
• Venue: Holekamp Gym - Lexington, Va.

ONU Individuals

• #5 Sophomore Myles Johnson (Springboro) went 3-1 with two tech falls and a pin and placed 2nd at the 197 pound weight class. 
• Freshman Londen Murphy (Moscow/Moeller) placed 2nd with a 3-0 record at 157.
• Freshman Ben Hegler (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) placed 2nd and went 3-1 at 165.
• Sophomore Jovanni Greco (Ross) went 4-1 and placed 3rd at 157.
• Freshman Kurt Mokros (Lewis Center/Olentangy) went 4-2 and placed 4th at 125.
• Freshman Seth Miller (Bethel Park, Pa.) placed 5th and went 4-2 at 141.

• Ohio Northern finished ahead of No. 22 Washington & Lee (39 pts.)
• Murphy has a team-high 13 pins this season with a 20-0 record. Murphy finished second after he took a medical default in the final.
• Johnson is 18-2 on the season with five pins and 6 tech falls.
• Hegler is 18-4 on the season with seven pins and four tech falls.
• Mokros is 18-5 with four pins and four tech falls.
• Senior Ajay Locke (Lancaster) is tied for 49th in program history in career wins with 72.
• Johnson is ranked No. 5 nationally at 197 pounds by the NWCA.
