Wrestling opens the 2025-26 season with a 4th place finish at Mount Union Invitational on Saturday

ALLIANCE — The Ohio Northern wrestling team opened its 2025-26 season with a 4th place finish at the Mount Union Invitational on Saturday.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (0-0 Overall).
- ONU finished 4th of 14 teams with 129.5 points.
- Venue: McPherson Athletics Center - Alliance, Ohio.
- Gannon (Pa.) won the team title with 182.5 points, Seton Hill (Pa.) was second with 159 points and Case Western Reserve was fourth with 138 points.
ONU Individuals
- Freshman Londen Murphy (Moscow/Moeller) won the 157-pound weight class title with a 4-0 record in this Polar Bear debut.
- Sophomore Myles Johnson (Springboro) places 2nd with a 3-1 record at 197.
- Sophomore Casper Caizzo (Richwood/North Union) placed 3rd and went 5-1 at 141.
- Sophomore Aaron Turner (Dayton/Butler) went 3-1 and placed 3rd at 149.
- Sophomore Jovanni Greco (Ross)placed 3rd with a 5-1 record at 157.
- Senior Ajay Locke (Lancaster) went 2-2 and placed 4th at 184.
- Freshman Troy Dyszkiewicz (Cleveland, Tenn./Walker Valley) placed 5th a 3-2 record at 285.
- Freshman Caden Mellott (Wapakoneta) placed 6th with a 3-1 record at 125.
- Freshman Ben Hegler (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) placed 6th and went 4-2 at 165.
- Senior Gabe Hansen (Richwood/North Union) placed 8th with a 3-3 record at 141.
- Freshman Kurt Mokros (Lewis Center/Olentangy) placed 8th and went 4-2 at 133.
Notables
- Locke is tied for 57th in program history in career wins with 69.
- Johnson is ranked No. 6 at 197 pounds by the NWCA.
- The Polar Bears placed 11 different wrestlers in the top eight of their respective weight classes.
- Ohio Northern head coach Rob Beaschler is in his 37th season and has a 391-257-4 dual meet record, a winning percentage of .603.
