All-American Cody Lovejoy wins Heavyweight title at NCAA III Mideast Regionals wrestling tournament

GRANTHAM, Pa. — Senior All-American and No. 1-ranked Cody Lovejoy rolled through the Heavyweight division, leading the Ohio Northern wrestling team at the 2015 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Sunday at the Sollenberger Sports Center.

The Polar Bears finished eighth of 18 teams with 58.5 points.

But the story of the day for ONU was Cody Lovejoy winning the heavyweight weight class and clinching his third consecutive trip to the NCAA III Championships in the process.

Lovejoy went 4-0 to win the division and improved to 42-0 on the year with 26 pins.

He will represent the Polar Bears at the NCAA Championships March 13-14 at Hershey, Pa.

The top three placers in each of the 10 weight classes will advance to the NCAA Championships.

Junior Colt Lovejoy also placed in his weight class, finishing sixth at 165 pounds.
