Burden scores her 100th career goal as Women's Lacrosse falls 21-7 to Capital

ADA — Senior Keaghan Burden (Brunswick) scored her 100th career goal and finished with five goals, but the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team fell 21-7 against Captial on a sunny and cool Saturday afternoon.

- Junior Elena Martin (Canfield) finished the contest with one goal and two assists.
- Burden found the net first for the Polar Bears with a goal at 10:14 in the first period.
- After a Capital goal Martin scored at 7:27 in the first period to cut into the lead and made it 4-2.
- With 10:53 left in the first half, junior Mackenzie Miller (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) found Burden, who scored to cut the lead to 11-4.
- Capital led ONU 15-4 going into halftime.
- The Comets would have a 18-4 lead heading into the fourth period.
- The Orange and Black and CU would trade goals in the fourth with Burden scoring two of the three for ONU.
- Capital was led by Grace Osborn, who had 10 goals and two assists.
- Senior Emma LoGiudice (Wooster) had a game-high five ground balls in the contest.
- Freshman Kara Fox (South Euclid/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) and sophomore Jenna Messinger (Springboro) combined for six saves to help the Polar Bears.
- CU out-shot ONU 33-17 and had the ground ball advantage 20-17.

- Burden is first all-time in Ohio Northern history with 226 career points. She is also ONU's all-time career leader with 122 assists and is second with 104 career goals.
- Burden leads the team in points this season with 68 and is fourth in the OAC.
