Alfes named Golfer of the Year, Bucci named Coach of the Year, three athletes named All-OAC in Women's Golf

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Golfer of the Year and head coach Chad Bucci was named the OAC Coach of the Year in Women's Golf for the 2025-26 season.
Alfes and freshman Addison Williams (Bristolville/Bristol) were both First Team All-OAC selections. Sophomore Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) earned Second Team honors.
Alfes is now a four-time All-Conference honoree. She finished second out of 40 golfers at the OAC Championships with an 82-81-78—241 on the par-72, 5864-yard course. She leads the team in scoring this season with an average of 77.9 for 20 rounds.
In her career, Alfes has a 79.7 average for 87 rounds which ranks second all-time at Northern. Her current 77.9 single-season average also ranks second all-time.
Williams is second on the team with an 83.9 average in her first season at ONU. She placed tied for fourth at the OAC Championships with an 82-82-79—243.
Meister also tied for fourth at the OAC Championships with an 85-76-82—243. She ranks third on the team this season with an average of 84.7.
In two years at Northern, she has an 85.7 average for 39 rounds.
Bucci has now earned OAC Coach of the Year accolades four times, including in 2024, 2021 and 2013. He is in his 13th season at Northern with an overall record of 577-340-2, a winning percentage of .629.
The Ohio Northern women's golf team won its fourth OAC Championship title this season with a 54-hole total of 330-323-325—978. They received the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championships May 19-22 at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, Calif.
