Women's Golf begins spring season at the Randolph Macon Stith Invitational in Glen Allen, Va.

GLEN ALLEN, Va. — The Ohio Northern women's golf team started its spring season with a solid performance on the national stage of the Randolph Macon (Va.) Stith Invitational in Glen Allen, Va., on Monday and Tuesday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished 14th of 16 teams with a 336-330-328—994 for 36 holes.
- ONU Season Record: 28-22 Overall.
- No. 3-ranked New York U. took first as a team at 15-over-par 879, No. 8 Washington & Lee (Va.) was second with an 891, and No. 2 Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) was third at 903.

ONU Individuals
- Senior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) finished in 30th place of 84 golfers with a 72-81-83--236 on the par-72, 5651-yard course.
- Freshman Addison Williams (Bristolville/Bristol) was 53rd, going 83-87-78--248.
- Sophomore Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) came 66th, shooting 89-84-85--258.
- Sophomore Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) took 68th place with a 99-79-83--261.
- Freshman Danika Eagle (Fort Wayne, Ind./Northrop) was 76th, going 92-86-97--275.
Notables
- The ladies powered through 36 holes on Monday, and played 18 more on Tuesday.
- Williams earned a new collegiate personal record with an impressive 78 in round 3.
- Blackburn celebrated a new collegiate personal best with her 2nd round 79.
- Alfes is having a stellar senior season, as she is ranked No. 42 amongst all NCAA Division III players in the nation.
- The tournament featured 6 teams ranked within the top 25 in the nation.
- The field consisted of 21 players ranked in the top 100 in NCAA Division III, as well as 3 top 10 players.
- Head coach Chad Bucci is 555-337-2 in his 13th season at the helm of the ONU women's golf team, a winning percentage of .621.
