Blackburn, Meister lead Women's Golf to second place finish at 10-team Lourdes Fall Finale

SYLVANIA — The Ohio Northern women's golf team battled for a close second place finish in the Lourdes Fall Finale on Monday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished 2nd of 10 teams with a 64-over-par 352.
- ONU Season Record: 20-2.
- Lourdes won the tournament at 350, Tiffin was third with a 357 and Madonna (Mich.) was fourth with a 358.
- Venue: Sylvania C.C. - Toledo, Ohio.
ONU Individuals
- Sophomore Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) tied for 5th of 57 golfers with an 85.
- Sophomore Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) tied for eighth, making a strong back-nine effort with an 87.
- Freshman Katelyn Miley (Galion/Northmoor) tied for 12th, finishing at 17-over-par 89.
- Playing with the B-Team, freshman Myra Batra (New Delhi, India/Shiv Nadar School) took 11th place, shooting a 16-over-par 88.
Notables
- Blackburn finished within the top 5 for the first time this season, earning herself All-Tournament Team honors on her 20th birthday.
- Freshman Danika Eagle (Fort Wayne, Ind./Northrop) also scored for the Polar Bears A-Team, shooting a 19-over-par 91.
- Senior Marissa Alfes (Bellbrook) is playing as an individual at the Dayton Flyer Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
- She carded an 80-80—160 on Monday to stand tied for 46th of 70 NCAA Division I golfers with 18 holes to play on Tuesday.
- Head coach Chad Bucci is 545-315-2 in his 13th season at the helm of the ONU women's golf team, a winning percentage of .633.
