Alfes fires career-low 69 to lead Women's Golf to victory at Joe Campoli Memorial Tournament

HARROD — Senior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) fired a career-low 69 to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a victory at the Joe Campoli Memorial Tournament on a warm and sunny Monday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished first of five teams with a 316.
- John Carroll was second with a 329, Heidelberg was third with a 340, Baldwin Wallace was fourth with a 347 and Bluffton was fifth with a 356.

ONU Individuals
- Alfes was first of 47 golfers with a 3-under par 69 on the par-72, 6173-yard course.
- Freshman Addison Williams (Bristolville/Bristol) tied for fifth with an 81.
- Sophomores Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) and Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) tied for 11th with 83s.
- Playing as an individual, freshman Lainey Schleich (Bellbrook) tied for eighth with an 82.
- Eight of ONU's 15 players that played on Monday scored in the 80s or better.
Notables
- This is the fourth time in her career that Alfes has won Medalist honors.
- Her previous career-low was a 71 in fall of 2023.
- Alfes leads the Polar Bears in scoring this season with a 72.5 average after the first weekend of competition.
- Williams is second at 82.0, Meister is third at 84.0 and Blackburn and Schleich are tied for fourth at 85.0.
- Nine ONU players have averages under 90.
